I’m not a sports person. I follow no teams and hate watching almost everything. Having said that, I really enjoyed Frozen Endzone. It has the sophistication of chess and the action of football. In Frozen Endzone you control a robot football team. The gameplay 
is basically football. Throw the ball to your teammates or run and try to get to the other team’s endzone. Players can tackle if a member of the other team runs near them or if they run at the person with the ball. And the whole thing is turn based, very similarly to mode7’s Frozen Synapse, if you’ve ever played it. After both players have entered their move (whether thats AI or another person online) you get to see a brilliant, 3D view of what happened, with nice camera angles and animations. This is where the action comes from. The chess aspect comes from the turn based function, even though both people take their turns at the same time. If you are playing with someone online, you can play the game over multiple days. You can come back to make your move whenever, and once both of you do you can
come back and see what happened. I really enjoy the way the multiplayer is done because of this.
There are also AI opponents that you can play. These AI range in difficulty and provide a good learning experience for beginners. I had to play the “very easy” AI team five times before I could beat them once. Once you exhaust all of the preset AI games you can go a step further and take advantage of one of my favorite features of Frozen
Endzone: The ability to create your own team. You can Change the name and adjust the strengths of all of your players using an “energy” system so that players have to be bad at some things to be good at others. Right now, as far as I can tell, that is all there is to the team customizer right now. I think they plan on adding more, and I know I would like to see some more. Things like custom colours. I’m not sure that this doesn’t already exist, but that is because I find the Frozen Endzone interface confusing. Thats one of the few problems I have with this game.
Thats about all this game has to offer right now, but I definitely don’t think it needs more. Frozen Endzone is a fun game that deserves your attention, despite the few problems it has.
